Brief Bio
Michel lives in S.E. Queensland in Australia.
She studied Professional Children’s Writing & Publishing for three-years and describes her writing style as fast-paced, and humorous with lots of unpredictability.
Michel is passionate about engaging reluctant readers, and uses humour as a way to hopefully achieve this.
“Not all kids like to read, but they do like to laugh—which can sometimes be the motivating factor that starts them on their reading journey.”
Michel's first junior fiction book, Maxidents Happen was published in 2016.
Her debut picture book, My Gran Does Karate was published by Larrikin House in 2022.
June 2026 saw the release of her second picture book, How to Build a Better Brother, which was published by Lawley Publishing in the USA.
Cookie Chaos, will be Michel's third picture book and is due to be released in April 2027.
Michel credits her passion for writing to reading countless children’s books to her son when he was growing-up. Starting with picture books when he was just a few months old, all the way through to junior fiction.
Rediscovering the magic of children’s books as an adult gave her a whole new appreciation for the creativity, heart, and craft behind them.
